SVEN VÄTH AND UNDERWORLD WANT TO DO 12-hour BACK2BACK DJ SET!

Sven Väth and Underworld recently sat down together to record Mixmag Originals videos, discussing everything from vinyl and Ibiza to marathon DJ sets. Specifically, Sven started talking about long-lived DJ sets and concluded: "After six hours the party starts. After 12 hours, things get really interesting." That statement prompted Carl Hyde of the Underworld to suggest why they would not "do a joint 10 or 12-hour set."

Sven also explained that it is the driving force of the music that drives him through the sets without getting tired. Hyde also agreed with him, who said he was drawing his widely known energy from the first beat at the beginning of his DJ set. Otherwise, these greats of dance music have known each other since 1994, and in the conversation, they recalled many common adventures as well as a mutual love for techno.

Sven talked about how he knew how to spin Underworld stuff like "Born Slippy" and "Rez" at his now-defunct Frankfurt Omen Club. "They were classic classics," he revealed to the British dance duo, stating that "there was no night without at least one of their hits."
